Abstract

GRDP of Langkat Regency in 2024 based on current prices reached IDR 62,411.48 billion and GRDP of Langkat Regency in 2024 based on constant 2010 prices reached IDR 34,880.49 billion.
The economy of Langkat Regency in 2024 grew by 4.98 percent, higher than the achievement in 2023 which grew by 4.93 percent.
Based on the production approach of the business field, the three categories of business fields that provided the highest growth were the accommodation and food and beverage provision business field at 9.37 percent; followed by Financial Services and Insurance at 8.49 percent; and Health Services and Social Activities at 8.20 percent.
In terms of expenditure, the three components with the highest growth were the Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households Consumption Component at 15.38 percent; followed by the Net Export of Goods and Services component at 14.32 percent; and Government Consumption of 7.94 Percent
The economic structure of Langkat Regency when viewed from the Business Field side is dominated by Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of 44.38 percent; Processing Industry of 14.25 percent; and Wholesale and Retail Trade; Car and Motorcycle Repair of 10.48.
When viewed from the expenditure side, the economic structure of Langkat Regency is dominated by the household consumption expenditure component of 53.96 percent; Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component of 20.81 percent; and Net Export Component of Goods and Services of 14.25 percent
Spatially, especially in the East Coast Region of North Sumatra Province, the Economy of Langkat Regency ranks third out of 12 Regencies/Cities in the East Coast Region of North Sumatra Province.
